“Backyard chickens, zero hassle. Here’s how Chick-Inn Rentals works.”

Just follow these 3 super easy steps …

Step 1

Reserve online: pick dates & package.

Step 2

We deliver & set up: we bring coop, hens, feed and show you the basics.

Step 3

We pick up: at the end of your rental (or adopt the hens).

So what’s included when I rent the chickens?

We will deliver a chicken coop with a run suitable for 2 egg laying hens. There is plenty of room for them to move around and ample room to sleep and lay eggs.

NOTE: Coop and run may differ slightly from the photo but will still have the same amount of room and ease of access to the nesting box for egg collection.

You will receive 2 hens of egg laying age (between 6 months and 2 years old) that are already laying eggs. We use Rhode Island Red hens as they are very easy to care for, lay large brown eggs, and lay between 8 and 12 eggs per week.

You will receive 100 pounds of high quality 22% protein feed. Each hen will eat about 50 pounds of feed in about 6 months, so 100 pounds should be plenty for 2 hens. We don’t skimp on feed as that is what keeps the hens healthy and laying more often as well as larger eggs.

You will also get a feeder and a waterer. These are simple to use but do require daily care for healthy hens. It is recommended that the waterer be cleaned and refilled each day and the feeder be cleaned out at least once a week (or more often if the chickens make a mess of things.

You will also get a pamphlet describing how to care for your chickens, what to watch out for as far as disease or sickness, as well as things you can do extra for your hens, like snacks, toys, etc.
